After “The Diagnosis”…
Like most parents in this situation tend to do, I swung into action – diagnosis in hand.
I wanted to know everything I could about what on earth this Aspergers thing was all about. There were little scraps of info in my mind, like Rain Man, which put these images and questions into my mind – how did it all relate to my little man? For a time there were more questions than answers.
Now that we are a little further down the road of our journey into being parents of an ASD child, I realise there is an incredible amount to learn. Not only are we learning about Autism, but we are learning about how to deal with a child on the spectrum, and how that relates to our family life. Also it is forcing me to look at my own behaviours with a microscope!!
